Staff threatening to strike at Aer Lingus say it is too late to call it off.
Workers at the airline plan to go on strike this Friday with their union IMPACT saying that the current rosters impose excessive hardship and fatigue on staff.
Cabin crew are due to stage a 24-hour strike causing travel chaos ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
IMPACT has accepted the offer from the airline to talk, but a time and place has not been set.
Niall Shanahan from the union says the action on Friday will go ahead.
Meanwhile Aer Lingus has warned more than 300 jobs will be lost at the company in Ireland if new rosters demanded by cabin crew are introduced.
It is a claim IMPACT denies, calling it 'scaremongering'.
Last night, the union agreed to enter into talks with management on the issue but said the strike is likely to still go ahead at this late stage.
The Transport Minister is pleading with workers to call it off - saying that it is doing untold damage to the company.
Leo Varadkar told Newstalk Breakfast earlier that the threat of strike should only be a final solution.
