Paudie McGahon says he finds it hard to believe that Gerry Adams was given a list of alleged sex abusers anonymously.

The Sinn Féin president has previously said he received the list through the postbox of his Belfast home and it was then passed on to the Gardai.

Paudie McGahon, who says he was raped by an IRA member in the 1990s and subjected to a kangaroo court, says Deputy Adams' house is a "fortress".

Sinn Fein Senator David Cullinane spoke to Lunchtime today about why Gerry Adams made the decision not to go the authorities about the case.

He said: "The information I have is the same information that you have in relation to what's in the public domain."

He continued: "The information was given to them (public representatives) by an adult."

Mr Cullinane also went on to state that the party have robust guidelines on how to deal with allegations of abuse.

Jonathan asked him did he think that by not reporting Mr McGahon's case, did this put other children in danger, to which Mr Cullinane replied: "I would not stand over child abuse.

"I believe victims should get justice."
