A Sheffield man by the name of Paul has found out in a very public way that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, after a British woman seemingly took out a huge billboard advert dumping her cheating partner.

The woman, known only as Lisa, rented the 4.6m by 3m space on the busy Sheffield Parkway, a major commuter road leading into the city in South Yorkshire. The message reads as follows:

"To my cheating husband Paul. You deserve each other. When you get home I won't be there.

"Enjoy your drive to work! Lisa."

The digital message board featuring the message went live at 11pm on Tuesday night, located on the side of the dual carriageway that runs from the M1 into Sheffield.

Mark Catterall, from advertising executive who sold Lisa the advertising space, said she paid "hundreds of pounds" for her exit sign, the Telegraph reports.

"She just wanted it on during rush hour. The Sheffield Parkway is always jammed as it is the main artery in and out of the city in the morning and the client wanted on while her ex-partner was driving to work,” Catterall added.

"It is the most recognised billboard location in the city, so I wouldn't like to be the partner scorned by this."

The billboard company Anco Digital has confirmed that the sign outlying Paul’s infidelity had been displayed during the rush-hour window of 6am to 9am, meaning thousands of motorists had seen it.
