A hotel in New York says it's fired the person who leaked a video of Beyonce with her husband and sister in a lift. 

A clip posted on US gossip site TMZ showed Solange hitting and kicking out at 44-year-old Jay Z as the trio left an after party following the Met Gala last week.

The Standard Hotel says the member of staff has been terminated for "breaching security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video."

The Standard Hotel said in a statement at the time of the leak: "We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests.

"We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."

The New York Post claims TMZ paid $250,000 for the footage after the hotel employee "shopped it around to the highest bidder".
