It has emerged that the body of a homeless man was found at Dublin's Mater hospital in April.

It is believed the remains of the dead man - who was not a patient at the hospital - went undiscovered for around a week in April.

According to the Irish Independent, a member of staff found the remains of the man (in his 30s) in a closed section of the facility.

The HSE was notified but decided not to launch an investigation.
