But appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, the former president explained why Hillary’s main opponents are doing so well.
The Republican-Party frontrunner Donald Trump is succeeding in capturing the public’s imagination because of his “macho appeal,” the former president said.
"He’s a master brander and he’s the most interesting character out there," Clinton said.

When asked about his thoughts on Bernie Sanders, the leading opponent to Hillary Clinton's shot at securing the Democratic Party's nomination, the former president said he thought the swing of support towards Sanders was a reaction to the growing support for more conservative Republican politics. Clinton also praised his wife during the interview for her comedic timing, in light of her appearance on the opening episode of the 41st season of Saturday Night Live over the weekend. In the skit, Hillary Clinton played a bartender named Val, sharing a moment with actress Kate McKinnon impersonating the presidential hopeful.
"Made me want to take a drink with her," her husband said of the sketch.
