The deadline for Mary Hanafin to withdraw as a local election candidate for Fianna Fáil in Blackrock has passed. She will now feature on the ballot alongside Fianna Fáil's other candidate Kate Feeney.

It has been confirmed by Hanafin that the party did a U-turn on the decision to ask the former TD and Minister to run, but she has decided to run despite requests to withdraw.

Kate Feeney, the president of Ógra Fianna Fáil, is already standing for Fianna Fáil in the same ward. Hanafin will now feature on the ticket alongside Feeney.
