Militant Palestinian group Hamas claim that they captured a dolphin carrying various types of spy equipment off the coast of Gaza.
The story was reported by newspaper Al-Quds, detailing that the dolphin had cameras and other devices on it, and that it had been "stripped of its will" and turned into "a murderer" by the Israeli secret services.
According to the BBC, Hamas have not released any images of the dolphin that they claim to have captured, and Israeli authorities have made no comment on the reports as of yet.
The dolphin was discovered by a naval unit of Hamas, but it is not the first time that there have been reports of animals being used as unwitting spies, after an incident in 2010 when a vulture was discovered to be carrying a GPS transmitter.
