The three Halawa sisters are back in Ireland. Omaima, Fatima and Somaia were imprisoned in Egypt for almost four months following a protest in support of ousted President Mohammed Morsi.
Their brother Ibrahim is still being detained and there is no word on when he will be released.
They were greeted at Dublin Airport by their father Hussein, who says he is “very happy” with how the Irish government responded to the case and wished to thank the government for its help in returning his daughters to Ireland.
The Irish Government had increased pressure on Egyptian authorities in recent, pushing for the release of the Halawa siblings.
