Graham Dwyer’s ex-girlfriend has told his murder trial that he used to fantasise about stabbing a woman while having sex.

The Cork-born architect with an address at Kerrymount Close, Foxrock, Dublin denies murdering childcare worker Elaine O'Hara at Killakee mountain in Dublin in August 2012. Her remains were found in September 2013.

Emer McShea was in a relationship with Graham Dwyer during her college years in the 1990s and they had a son together in 1992.

She said he used to fantasise about stabbing women and would bring a kitchen knife into their bedroom and pretend to stab her during sex.

In November 2013, she said a birthday card arrived for their son Sennan. It was from the accused and read:

“Everything going well here. All forensics clear. We’re assured of an acquittal now we have a mountain of evidence that it was suicide”.

His son Sennan also took the stand. He identified his father on some images taken from CCTV footage of Elaine O’Hara’s apartment complex.

Email conversations between the childcare worker and FETISHBOY@GMAIL.COM were also read out to the jurors.

One of them references the account GDWYER@GMAIL.COM and a Google search extracted from the same laptop contained the words: GRAHAM DWYER ARCHITECT WEJCHERT

Earlier, Graham Dwyer's trial heard documents called 'Murder Inc' and '21 Techniques of Silent Killing' were found on his alleged victim's Macbook computer.

The court heard Detective Garda Brid Wallace analysed an image of the hard drive on Ms O'Hara's Macbook as part of the investigation into her death.

Yesterday she told the jury she found photos of mutilated bodies from the web on the childcare worker's laptop, along with documents about torture and slavery.

Today she resumed her evidence for the prosecution. She described three PDF files in the downloads folder.

One called '21 techniques of silent killing' had chapters about weapons - the knife, the spike, the nunchuck.

A second was about weapons, and the third was called 'murder inc' by jack the rippa - and identifies a number of different ways of killing people.

The jury also heard that gardaí found instant messages sent between Ms O'Hara and various people, presumably men, in late 2010.

She used the profile name 'bound' with the associated email address 'boundforyou.slave7@gmail.com' and discusses BDSM sexual activities, how she is looking for a master and the website alt.com.

It is the prosecution's case that Ms O'Hara (36) was involved in a BDSM relationship with Mr Dwyer and that he stabbed her for his own sexual gratification.
