Glastonbury bosses have announced they will pay tribute to David Bowie at this summer's festival.

The famous Pyramid Stage will be decorated with a giant metal lightning flash, as featured on his Aladdin Sane album cover. Footage from his appearance in 2000 will also be shown around the site.

Speaking to the BBC, festival organiser Emily Eavis said: "We're doing Philip Glass's Heroes Symphony on the Park Stage on Saturday night, which is going to be a really intimate tribute to Bowie."

"We're going to do an incredible light show which will go on for the whole show and beyond, into the night".

Organisers have also said they are looking at ways to pay tribute to Prince.

"There's talk of late-night Prince parties and things" said Eavis.

She also fielded questions about a suspected change of venue for the festival.

"The deal on the year off is we're planning a show - another event - somewhere nearby. It's either going to be in 2018 or 2019. It's going to be the whole team behind the Glastonbury Festival but it's not going to be called Glastonbury."

She further addressed the speculation on twitter:
