Gardai in Dublin are investigating an armed robbery of a cash in transit van in Tyrrelstown this afternoon.

 

The incident happened at around 3 o'clock when two men approached a security man who was delivering money and demanded cash.

 

It's believed one of the suspects was carrying a fire arm and they made off with a substantial sum of cash.

 

No one was injured during the incident.

 

The suspects made their getaway in a waiting -blue coloured -car. The vehicle was later found burnt out in Hollystown.

 

No arrests have been made and gardai are continuing to investigate the incident.
