Gardaí have identified the man who died in Rathcoole, Co Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
The man was found with injuries on Steelstown Lane just before 3 o'clock this morning.
Gardaí say they do not suspect a link between this incident and the discovery of a baby girl in the same location in recent weeks.
Gardaí discovered the man's body on Steelstown Lane in Rathcoole, Co Dublin following a 999 call from a member of the public just before 3am this morning.
The man was found with visible injuries and medical assistance was immediately sought. However the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Gardai say they are 'very anxious to speak with anyone who traveled on Steelstown Lane between 12 midnight last night and 3am this morning and urge them to contact us'.
But Superintendent Brendan Connolly advised that "at this early stage of the investigation no link has been established between this incident and the discovery of a baby girl in the same vicinity in recent weeks."
An Incident Room has been set up by investigating Gardai at Clondalkin Garda Station and a post-mortem on the man's body will take place at James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown later.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the services of the State Pathologist were requested.
A Divisional Search Team is coordinating a search of the area, and relevant CCTV footage is being examined as well as house to house enquiries.
