Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to quiz two men after the discovery of a firearm and ammunition.

They were uncovered during a search of a car in Ballymun on Monday evening.

The 9mm handgun was discovered in the footwell of the front passenger seat - along with 3 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a silver silencer.

Both men were arrested at the scene and are being held at Coolock Garda Station.
