A driver involved in a hit and run incident in Dublin is being urged to come forward.

The crash on Monday night has left a teenage girl with a broken pelvis, a sprained leg and torn ligaments in her back. However she will have no long-lasting injuries as a result of the collision.

The collision happened in Carrickmines on the Glenamuck road on Monday 23rd of November, at about 10 o'clock.

The 16-year-old was crossing the road when she was struck by a silver or grey 04 LH registration Jeep, possibly a Land Rover or Range Rover.

Gardaí say the driver - who has a brightly coloured neck tattoo, and is believed to be in his mid-30s - stopped and got out of the vehicle briefly and spoke to the girl before getting back in and driving off towards Cornelscourt.

The driver is said to be approximately 6ft tall, skinny and with blonde hair.
