There has been an armed robbery at a post office in Co Kerry.

It happened at five past four this afternoon when two men armed with a suspected handgun threatened staff at Tarbert Post Office.

They escaped with a small amount of cash in a black Mitsubishi Colt car which was found burnt out a short distance away.

No shots were fired and no-one was injured.
