Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards, turning more persistent in the west and north by midmorning with locally heavy falls and a risk of thunder in Ulster and Connacht in the afternoon. Parts of the east and southeast will stay mostly dry for a while in the morning but rain will become widespread in the afternoon and evening.

It will be another cool day with temperatures only reaching 14 to 16 degrees and southwesterly winds will increase moderate to fresh. A clearance to isolated showers will reach the west by evening.

Tonight

Tonight, persistent and locally heavy rain will affect eastern and southern areas at first. A clearance will spread from the west with isolated showers mainly in coastal regions but becoming mostly dry with clear spells elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh, occasionally strong, southwesterly winds which will veer westerly with the clearance.
