The French President is holding face to face meetings with the US Secretary of State and a representative of the Qatari government today.

Francois Hollande and John Kerry are meeting at the Elysee Palace.

Yesterday evening, President Hollande said he would meet with US President Obama and Russian President Putin to discuss their united response to Islamic State (IS).

This afternoon, President Hollande will meet Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar.

High on the agenda will be France’s response to Friday’s terror attacks with Hollande promising to end IS.

Meanwhile, French warplanes have carried out fresh raids on IS overnight.

It is the second night its jets have targeted the group's stronghold of Raqqa in northern Syria.

In a statement, the military says a command centre and training base have been destroyed.

Students who spoke to our reporter in Paris were divided on whether they supported further strikes in Syria:

"With all that happened, of course I support it in this case. Because they attacked us, of course it is a kind of defence".

"I don't support it because all the politicians say it is a war, but it is a war between them and the politicians and we are involved as non-politicians - I don't think it's a good idea to do that".

As the hunt continues for Europe's most wanted man after the Paris attacks on Friday, border security has been tightened up in Belgium, Italy and France to aid the search.

But concern is growing among some European leaders about the refugee crisis and border control, with some questioning the future of the Schengen Agreement.

German MEP and chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs is Elmar Brok.

He says EU states need to share more information with each other.

"We should not come to a situation that the terrorists force us to have less freedom for our own citizens" he told Newstalk Breakfast.

"We must have joint border controls to the outer borders - we cannot leave alone it to the Greeks, to the Maltese and the Italians, it's a joint effort".

"We have seen now from Paris that some of the terrorists came from Brussels; if it would have been a better information system, that way something would have been prevented - and we would have got the surviving terrorist earlier and perhaps we would have prevented the whole attack".

Mr Brok says while he supports open boarders, more needs to be done.
