Ryanair is urging the French government to intervene in the strike action which has led to delays and cancellations for flights between Ireland and France.

Hundreds of passengers flying with easyJet, Ryanair and British Airways will continue to face flight problems until Tuesday.

Ryanair says the action by French air traffic controllers means thousands of passengers are being held to ransom by tiny numbers of French workers.

Robin Kiely is a spokesperson for the airline:

"We have cancelled 16 flights to and from Dublin.

Also, we are envisaging delays - there were several delays yesterday.

Our advice to customers is: go early to the airport, look at our website Ryanair.com for the latest information, and also our Twitter account - @Ryanair."
