Footage from a camera mounted on a US policeman's taser has emerged, after the officer was accused of inappropriate use of the weapon.

Lester Brown was tasered in his own home by the policeman, who suspected him of being involved in a shoplifting incident.

He later claimed Brown had failed to show him his hands, but the video shows he did.

Officer Tim Claussen has ten years of experience on the police force, according to media reports.

The Zephyrhills Chief of Police is investigating after a routine review of operations raised discrepancies between the officer's version of events and the events captured on camera.
