Commentator slams players for intruding on the pitch during the Ladies FAI Cup final

The Ladies FAI Cup final was drenched in drama at the Aviva Stadium, as Wexford Youths eventually broke a 2-2 deadlock after a penalty shoot-out as part of a curtain-raiser for the men's final.

Both sets of players defied the miserable conditions in Dublin, to produce a pulsating encounter with a momentum that swung both ways at times. But the high pedigree of competition was marred by a number of players from the Dundalk and Cork City sides who entered the pitch to warm-up for the men's game while the penalty shoot-out was taking place.

Bobby Kerr urges Irish men to “get yourselves checked” after revealing cancer diagnosis

Newstalk’s Down To Business presenter Bobby Kerr is urging men in Ireland to get checked for cancer after he revealed he was recently diagnosed with the disease.

The Insomnia Coffee Company chairman announced on-air today that he will be taking time off in the coming weeks to receive treatment for head and neck cancer.

Paul Kimmage and Gavan Reilly joined Adrian Barry to look through the Sunday Papers this week and Kimmage highlighted the coverage of the latest scandal to hit the IAAF.

He stated that it would be "naive to think that you're only dealing with [the Russians] here", while Reilly highlighted that "it stretches incredulity" on Sebastian Coe's part to claim, as the IAAF vice president for seven years, that he hadn't even heard a whisper about it.

Alcohol ads on sporting pitches reportedly set to be banned as part of new legislation

Ads for alcohol on sports pitches look set to be banned under new legislation aimed at de-glamourising drinking.

Reports in the Irish Independent claim that Health Minister Leo Varadkar is due to bring the bill to cabinet soon, and that it may also include plans for a minimum price on alcohol. 

Government to face questioning from Troika representatives over Budget spending

The government's planned budget for 2016 is set to come under scrutiny by members of the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund amid concerns that the the financial plans for next year might not balance the books. 

The representatives of the Troika will be in Dublin for a week long visit from Monday, and will meet with officials at the Department of Finance, the Central Bank and the main banks in the country.
