Gardaí are appealing for information after a woman was locked in a room during a burglary at a house in Dublin on Thursday.
Detectives are investigating the incident of burglary and false imprisonment on the Strand Road area of Portmarnock.
Five masked individuals are said to have entered the house and threatened the woman, before locking her inside a bathroom as they searched through the property.
A woman who suffers with dementia was the only other person in the house, and she was unable to use the phone to call 999 or unlock the toilet door.
After the five people left the house, the woman remained locked in the room for around 20 hours until she was discovered by a relative on Friday afternoon.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Gardaí are looking to speak to witnesses, as well as any road users who travelled on the Coast Road between Baldoyle and Portmarnock between 6:30pm and 8pm on the 9th January.
