The first ever Polish-Irish Festival ‘PolskaÉire 2015’ kicks off on Saturday 21st of March.

The festival runs until March 29th and aims to celebrate the 150,000 members of the Polish community who live in Ireland today.

Minister Minister for New Communities, Culture and Equality Aodhan Ó Ríordáin, the Polish Embassy, Dublin City Council and the FAI are all involved in the festival.

Wojciech  Kostka a member of the  Forum Polonia Steering Committee and Niamh Nestor a researcher with the UCD School of Languages and Literatures dropped into studio to tell the Right Hook what people can expect from the festival.

There are more than 150 events from sports events to Polish language tours of art galleries, a seminar focusing on the workplace realities for Polish workers in Ireland.

The Polish film festival takes place in the Lighthouse cinema. While the local community in Gorey are holding a series of events in their library including the Polish Afternoon in Gorey.
