A Fine Gael TD is to take his own party to court, over his failure to be nominated for next year's general election.
John Perry is the only outgoing Fine Gael TD not to be included on the party ticket, after he was defeated at his convention in Sligo-Leitrim.
However the former junior minister claims some Fine Gael members were unfairly barred from voting from him, and also that Enda Kenny had promised all outgoing TDs the chance to retain their seats.
Members were instructed to vote for one candidate from each country, resulting in TD Tony McLoughlin beating Perry in Sligo and former TD Gerry Reynolds clinching the Leitrim spot.
Mr Perry is now due to go to the High Court and seek an injunction to stop Fine Gael ratifying the ticket in Sligo-Leitrim.
