There have been reports of an explosion at Istanbul’s Baymrampasa metro station.

AP, citing Turkish NTV, report that there have been injuries. Haberturk TV, another local source, has reported one death.

The district mayor has said a pipe-bomb caused the explosion

The BBC reports that the explosion occurred at 17.15 local time (15.15 Irish time).

Authorities have suspended the city’s metro network.
