Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin are seeking an early recall of the Dáil to discuss the issue of Dáil privilege and public interest.

It follows new claims about businessman Denis O'Brien's banking arrangements with IBRC

The claims were made under Dáil privilege yesterday by Independent TD Catherine Murphy, but cannot be reported because the matter is the subject of a High Court injunction.

Agreement reached in pay talks

It is understood an agreement has been reached on raising pay of public servants

There has been a successful conclusion to talks on public sector pay which will see most public servants having their pay restored by around €2000.

According to the IMPACT trade union this will happen over three phases between January of next year and September of 2017.

The pay restoration will be achieved through a combination of adjustments to the public service pension levy and a partial reversal of the 2010 public service pay cuts.

The devolved administration is facing collapse after they failed to reach a deal on controversial welfare reforms.

Bill O'Herlihy is laid to rest in Dublin

The sports broadcaster passed away on Monday

Hundreds of mourners, including President Michael D Higgins, have attended a funeral mass for the late broadcaster Bill O'Herlihy.

O'Herlihy, who retired as an RTÉ sports broadcaster after the World Cup last year, passed away at his home in Dublin on Monday at the age of 76.
