Nail bomb and IS flag found during police raids in Brussels

A bomb containing nails has been found along with an Islamic State flag in police raids in Brussels, according to prosecutors.

The discovery was made during a search of an apartment hours after the Belgian terror attacks, which killed at least 34 people.

Belgian authorities have also released a photograph showing three suspects caught on CCTV cameras at the airport.

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel condemned the "violent" attacks as "cowardly" on what he described as "a black day" for the nation.

"What we feared has happened, we were hit by blind attacks," he said.

Labour confirms it will not be part of formation of new government

Labour has confirmed it will not be part of, or help to form, a new government.

The party has decided to sit out the next term in government after a meeting of its parliamentary party this afternoon.

The statement comes as a group of five independent TD says they are stepping up talks to form a government with Fine Gael.

Patrick Mungovan, who is from Quilty in County Clare, is all too aware of the dangers of abusing alcohol.

Patrick's twin brother Stephen died after falling from a cliff in Spanish Point, following a night out with friends in October of last year.

A Facebook post written by Patrick on the subject of alcohol abuse went viral over the weekend.

The loss of a loved one is always a difficult period in anyone's life, but for Emmanuel Petit, the death of his brother Olivier was a particularly poignant tragedy.

The French World Cup winner spoke to Off The Ball about how he coped with losing a sibling and having to deal with it as a teenager in the Monaco academy.

"I used to keep a diary" he began. "That's what I used to do because I lost my brother on the pitch. I lost my grandfather and my best friend in the space of two years when I was at the academy."
