The Taoiseach is set to meet the Italian Prime Minister in Rome today.
The two leaders are expected to discuss the latest developments in the Eurozone debt crisis.
It is part of a 2-day trip for Enda Kenny.
Tomorrow he will meet Pope Benedict XVI along with a number of other leaders.
It will mark the first meeting Mr. Kenny has had with the Pontiff since a speech he made in the Dáil last year which was highly critical of the Vatican.
He will be part of a delegation of European political leaders who will pay a visit to the pontiff at his summer residence in Castle Gandolfo.
Mr. Kenny will talks today with the Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti to discuss Irish plans for the Presidency of the European Union next year.
Tomorrow he will pay a visit to the leader of the Catholic Church with a number of other politicians affiliated to the Centrist Democratic International Party.
It is also the first time Mr. Kenny will meet with the Pontiff since the publication of a series of reports into child abuse by the Church.
