Gardaí have recovered money taken from an elderly Dublin woman by a gang of conmen earlier in the week.

83 year old Kathleen Byrne handed €3000 over to the gang after they told her that she needed urgent work carried out on her home.

Once she handed over the money the men disappeared.

Earlier today three men were interviewed by Gardai, they have since been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Ms Byrne’s money has been recovered.
