An elderly couple has been left traumatised after they were tied up and robbed in their home.

Three men entered the house at Briarwood on the Vevay Road in Bray, Co Wicklow.

It happened at around 8:30pm last night. Some jewellery was taken in the course of the raid.

The couple, who are aged in their 80s, managed to raise the alarm themselves afterwards.

They were not seriously hurt in the incident, and gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
