Egyptian security forces have killed more than 40 suspected militants, according to the country’s interior ministry.
It comes after four people were killed in a bombing on a tourist bus in Giza yesterday.
The Egyptian State-run news agency MENA said the militants were killed in three separate raids in Giza and North Sinai.
It said large quantities of weapons and explosives were found during the raids.
It warned that the militants were planning terrorist attacks targeting security centres and Christian churches in the country – although it did not provide details on their identity.

Yesterday’s roadside bomb blast less than 4km from the Giza pyramid complex took the lives of three tourists and a tour guide.
At least 10 others were injured in the attack.
The bus was travelling in the Marioutiyah area near the pyramids when the roadside bomb, which was concealed by a wall, exploded.
