A Dublin City Councillor, Rebecca Moynihan, has confirmed that a fanzone will be set up in Dublin’s Smithfield area for Ireland’s Euros knockout tie with France on Sunday.
Large screens will be erected in Smithfield Square in Dublin City Centre for the second round game against the tournament hosts.
The news follows calls for “a family-friendly environment” where people enjoy the game against France. Speaking in the Dáil earlier Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald said the housing and planning minister Simon Coveney was working to see the fanzone created.
