Failte Ireland is disputing a new survey which places Dublin at number 12 on a list of most expensive cities in the world.
The average night out will set visitors back over €260, according to TripAdvisor. The capital is up seven places from last year.
According to the study, seven of the 10 most expensive destinations are in Europe.
Our nearest neighbour - London - topped the list as the most expensive city.
It was followed by Paris, New York, Stockholm, Oslo, Zurich, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Toronto and Sydney.
The Vietnamese city of Hanoi was seen as the cheapest on average.
The price comparison study is based on 48 key tourist cities and takes into account typical expenditure for two people, such as a meal and a bottle of wine.
But Failte Ireland spokesman Alex Connolly says there is value for money in Dublin.
