Drugs worth over €1.1m have been seized as part of an operation targeting organised crime.
The seizure was made after members of the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau stopped a number of vehicles in the Donore Road and North Road areas of Drogheda in County Louth yesterday.
Two men aged 39 and 50-years-old and a 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of enhancing the ability of an organised crime gang to commit a serious offence.

During follow-up searches in Meath, Dublin, Louth and Wexford, investigators uncovered cocaine and illicit prescription drugs believed to be worth around €1.1m.
They also found more than €550,000 in cash sealed in vacuum packed bags.
Officers also seized three vehicles, six expensive watches, two “encrypted communications devices” and two signal blockers.

Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis, head of bureau at the GNIB said: “The Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau continues to pursue those involved in serious and organised crime while restrictions on movement associated with the coronavirus are in place, leading to another successful outcome to an operation, involving the seizure of significant quantities of controlled drugs and cash and other property, believed to be the proceeds of crime, and the arrest of three suspects.”
The three people who were arrested are being held at Garda stations in Dublin.
Investigations are ongoing.
