The Bible tells us that there is a "time for every event under heaven" - which presumably includes sexting. If only the good book had been a little more specific, this Seattle anesthesiologist may have kept his naughty messages away from the workplace.

The doctor has been suspended after allegedly sending raunchy texts and photos while in surgery.

The Washington State Department of Health released the findings against Arthur K. Zilberstein, 47, on Monday. They record over 250 texts sent with sexual innuendo, 26 of which had "explicit sexual comments." The messages were sent during a variety of operations, ranging from Caesarean deliveries to cardiac probe insertions.

Health authorities say that his "preoccupation with sexual matters" is detrimental to the welfare of patients and he will be prevented from practising in the state.

The Washington Post also reveals allegations that Zilberstein sent selfies showing his gentials to a patient, accessed private medical records for his own sexual enjoyment, produced unauthorized prescriptions and had sexual rendezvous on hospital property.

He has 20 days in which to issue a response or request a hearing on the matter.
