The Dáil has voted down the latest attempt to overturn Ireland's abortion laws.
TDs voted 74 to 23 to reject a bill from Ruth Coppinger which would have forced a referendum on the matter.
Deputy Coppinger wants to repeal the 8th Amendment, which grants equal recognition to the lives of the mother and child.

Labour has already agreed to campaign for the repeal of the 8th Amendment at the next election, while Fine Gael is to consider a similar move.
