David Cameron has confirmed the UK will not pay a ransom for a British hostage, who Islamic State militants have threatened to kill.

He was speaking at the beginning of a NATO summit in south Wales.

The talks are expected to be dominated by the crisis in Ukraine and the murders of two American journalists by I.S extremists.

NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, says the organisation will seriously consider any request for assistance from the Iraqi government.
