The HSE has warned of two more dangerous drugs identified at Electric Picnic yesterday, including one linked to seizures.

The ‘Pink Punisher pill’ has over twice the average MDMA dosage and is reported to be linked with seizures.

“All MDMA has risk,” the HSE said in a statement. “You can’t be sure of the contents or purity.

“Treat all products with caution, start low, go low, keep cool and avoid mixing.”

The HSE drug-testing facility also identified the substance 3-CMC being sold as cocaine.

“3-CMC is a potent stimulant-type drug, which can make people feel unwell and lead to negative mental health reactions,” it said in a warning.

“These substances can lead to prolonged stimulation, insomnia, anxiety, paranoia, suicidal feelings, psychosis with negative come downs and aftereffects.”

The HSE’s on-site drug testing team returned to Electric Picnic this year to identify dangerous drugs in circulation at the festival.

It also introduced five surrender bins around the Stradbally location.

They can be found near the main stage and at the Jimmy Hendrix and Janus Joplin campsites, and at drug testing and medical tents.

HSE Emerging Drugs Trends Project Manager Nicki Killeen previously told Newstalk the HSE is working “really closely” with local and national Gardaí “to ensure we can have this operation”.
