The relief operation after Cyclone Hudhud has begun in India. The cyclone forced 400,000 people to evacuate areas along the eastern coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa where the cyclone caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure.

Eight people have been killed in the storm. Heavy rains are forecast for Orissa, causing officials to fear there may be flooding in the wake of the cyclone.

The cyclone hit the coast near the city of Visakhapatnam with winds at 205 km/h.
