A cyclist is in critical condition after a hit-and-run in Dublin last night.
Gardai said the man was hit by a car shortly after 9pm last night on Sheriff Street Upper.
The driver failed to remain at the scene.
The cyclist, aged in his early 20s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is understood to be critical.
A car believed to have been involved was found abandoned a short distance away on Guild Street.
Gardai are appealing to the driver and anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are especially interested in talking to anyone who may have captured video footage.
The scene has been examined by forensic investigators and the car has been removed for further examination.
