There have been 3,348 further cases of COVID-19 reported in Ireland.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has been notified of 1,407 PCR-confirmed cases.

Based on this data, the five-day moving average of cases has further fallen to 2,807.

While on Tuesday, 1,941 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.

As of 8.00am Wednesday, 706 patients were hospitalised with the virus - a drop of 44 on Tuesday's figures.

While 42 of these patients were in ICU, a drop of two in the last 24 hours.
