A 22-year-old Cork man has pleaded guilty to fraud offences for wrongly obtaining bank and credit card details from people inquiring about the property tax.

Jonathan Gough from Glyntown in Glanmire entered a guilty plea today at Cork District Court to four counts of fraud in May this year while he worked on a helpline for the property tax run by a company called Abtran.

The court heard that Mr. Gough wrongly obtained the banking details from three women and a man under the pretext that they were paying the property tax - and then tried to use the information to buy products online.

He has been remanded on bail to be sentenced on January 15th.
