A pedestrian has died following a crash in Co Wicklow early this morning.

It happened on the R755 at Larragh shortly after 2am.

The pedestrian in his 40s was hit by a car, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car - a woman in her 20s - was not injured.

Gardaí say the road remains closed to allow for forensic collision investigators to examine the area.
