The Foreign Affairs Minister has accused Fianna Fáil of 'game playing' in relation to the formation of a Government.
Charlie Flanagan's comments come after the Acting Taoiseach Enda Kenny cut short his trip to the United States for St Patrick's Day to return to Dublin to assess discussions with Independents and small parties.
It is expected that at some point in the next week or ten days Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil will have to begin talks on either a minority Government or grand coalition.
Yesterday, the Social Democrats announced they will not participate in a minority Government with either of the two largest parties.
Speaking in Washington, Minister Flanagan says Fianna Fáil is behaving like they won the general election, which he says "they clearly haven't".
He added that he respects "the will of the people through the ballot box - the result being inconclusive".
The Dáil is set to meet on Tuesday March 22nd at 10.30am, when there will be an update on the talks and statements on a number of issues.
TDs will then meet again at Leinster House in early April.
