Gardaí are investigating after a man died in a road traffic collision in Co Carlow.
It happened on the Tullow to Ballon road in the townland of Ardristan, in the early hours of this morning at around 5.00am.
The male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a van. The driver of the van was uninjured.
The pedestrian is described as being in his mid-20s, over 6ft in height, well-built and with short red hair.
His body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.
The road is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision investigators are at scene, and local diversions are in place.
