Gardaí have uncovered cannabis worth an estimated €40,000 at a house in County Meath.

Investigators said the drugs were found after Gardaí carried out a controlled delivery of drugs at the in Newcastle this afternoon.

Following the delivery investigators searched the premises and found 2kg of herbal cannabis.

A man in his mid-twenties was arrested and is being held a Kells Garda station.

The Garda investigation is ongoing.
