Canada's second youngest ever Prime Minister is celebrating today, after sweeping to victory in that country's election.

Justin Trudeau (43) and his Liberal Party won 185 out of the 338 seats in the House of Commons, ending nine years of Conservative government.

Trudeau is a former Member of Parliament for French-speaking province Quebec, and the son of the late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

"Sunny ways my friends. Sunny ways" Trudeau said as he addressed his supporters. "This is what positive politics can do."

In a tweet he said he was ready for the challenge.

He also posted pictures on Facebook of himself and his wife looking overjoyed with the victory.
