Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances after the body of a man was found in the back garden of a house in Waterford city.

The discovery was made by gardaí at around 2.30 this afternoon on Francis Street.

An ambulance was called, but the man was pronounced dead.

His body remains at the scene, which has been sealed off for a technical examination.

A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow at Waterford hospital.

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
