The bodies of three brothers have been found at two seperate locations in County Cork.

A major investigation is underway after the discoveries in Charleville and Buttevant.

The first discovery was made at a house on the N20, just outside Charleville at around 5pm, when a relative returning home found the bodies of two young boys.

They're believed to have been aged just nine, and were twins.

Initial reports suggest the pair had been stabbed.

The house was sealed off, and the road outside - the main route between Cork and Limerick - closed.

Around an hour later, Gardai discovered the body of a young man - believed to have been in his early twenties - in Buttevant, around 10 minutes drive away.

He's believed to have been a brother to the boys found dead in Charleville, and Gardai are investigating whether the incidents are linked.

Both scenes remain sealed off, and forensic teams and the State pathologist are en route.
