Brian O’Driscoll’s record for the most international appearances in Rugby Union will feature in the 60th anniversary edition of the Guinness World Records book, available to buy September 11.

BOD has been awarded a key position in the 60th anniversary edition of the Guinness World Records book.

The Irish centre leads the pack for the most international appearances in rugby union – with a total of 141caps - 133 for his country - plus eight for the British and Irish Lions on four separate tours.

The previous record was held by former Australian player, George Gregan, who had 139 caps.

O'Driscoll said he was “delighted" with the news when presented with his 'Guinness World Records' certificate adding that, "It's a childhood dream achieved."

A few other names in Irish sport also get the nod in the 2015 edition of the famous anthology including Rory Mcilroy who holds the record for the lowest total score in the US Open.

Our record-breaking jockey, Tony McCoy, has the most jump racing wins in a season - 289 in 2001-2002.

And don’t forget you can hear BOD make his guest presenter debut on Newstalk’s Off The Ball next Friday September 12.
